Akrynolor Wiki

Dangorm is one of the Primordials, and the only one that remains sealed in the Age of Mortals (Keltraon, who unbound Quarten and Madrium, deemed it too dangerous to be let loose in the new world). A dangerously powerful entity, it is unquestionably the most physically dominating of the Primordials with Kabal's defeat, with rage and savagery to match.

Persona and Relations[]

Dangorm appears as a gigantic lion-like creature, armoured in bone plating not unlike dragon scales. A simple force of brutal violence and destruction, it was kept in check by Kabal, the only being to defeat it in direct combat. It created the Brobdangeon as a war force to counter the efforts of Khazad and Mordra during the Primordial Wars, but took little interest in its progeny beyond their ability to fight. Despite its stereotypical force of destruction, Dangorm is dangerously intelligent, and capable of complex, if direct strategy.

Having been locked away in an Ether Pocket since the Primordial Wars, Dangorm has little interaction or knowledge of most present day events. It certainly harbours centuries of rage and anger towards its Draconic Enemies, and is bound to have equal enmity for Keltraon if it ever emerges and discovers the latter's part in abandoning it to it's fate. The Brobdangeon Truebloods use an icon of him for their "Mountain Father" religion, and offer some veneration, but are likely as frightened of its return as any.

Dangorm is believed to be the key figure in a Khazadryn and Mordrakryn myth of the "Mountain Breaker" who will one day rise again to face Khazad in a final battle for the world. This myth also appears in the lore of the Plains Halflings, and Wilderlander Clanfolk, as the "World Breaker", with no mention of Khazad to prevent its destruction.

History[]

In the Lost Ages, Dangorm roamed the Forge Mountains and northwestern Idryllia testing itself against whatever it could find. Eventually it would roam eastwards and run into Kabal, who managed to defeat it, binding it to his service. It would continue its roaming ways, occasionally clashing with Varthiir for dominance, and pushing towards the Northern Forest to intimidate Quarten and Madrium, before being reigned back by Kabal.

When Khazad and Mordra arrived with their children in the Primordial Wars to open a northern front, Kabal would dispatch Dangorm to oppose them, giving it the knowledge to create a race to counter the Ryn warriors of the Elder Dragons. Dangorm and his Brobdangeon would drive viciously to a stalemate, before eventually being sealed into the Ether Pocket by Yvera, where it has remained since.
