Ellondir was a city founded in the southwestern edge of the Northern Forest. Ruled by the Wilderlander Clan of the same name, it was fairly successful, and also acted as a loose barony over the farm village of Bilberry Hearth.
History[]
Age of Knowledge[]
Clan Ellondir originally was the fourth ruling clan of Deepwood, before being exiled after a losing feud with Clan Jaerl. While not exiled from the Northern Forest, they did leave to reform their Clan-hold at the new location. Owing to this location, they soon found themselves embattled with the expanding state of Carpath.
Age of Wars[]
The wars with Carpath took a downward turn when Carpath fell into darkness. Fearing that Carpath's new power would overwhelm them, Clan Ellondir sought its own salvation in esoteric forms. This resulted in contact with the Phantoms of the Underworld, who worked with the Clan for unknown purpose, bestowing upon them the Rift Device. In the resulting effort to enact a defense against Carpath, the entire Clan-hold became out of phase with Akrylonor, rendering it and its inhabitants a similar state to the Phantoms themselves. Stormwind would eventually venture into Ellondir and recover the Rift Device as part of his gambit to assault Laycindarius, but the Clan-hold remained in its cursed state and continues to this day. Adventurers periodically seek out the ghostly city when it appears, usually to their own demise.
Government[]
Clan Ellondir follows a similar structure to most Wilderlander Clans, save that their chief was both chief and shaman of the clan. With their current state it is rather unclear if they have a government, though adventurers report the Mage-King of Ellondir still reigns.
