An Ether Pocket is, in rough terms, a “bubble” in the concentrated Ether Tides that form the Curtain, which separates Akrylonor from the Void beyond. While these pockets form and collapse regularly, they can be forced to remain by skilled wielders of magic.
Ether Pockets don't have a physical size, in of themselves, and can be worked into both tiny spaces and vast continental sized spaces. Though the larger one tries to work an Ether Pocket, the greater chance it will bridge the Curtain and form into a Gate Plane.
Known Ether Pockets include:
- The Primordials' Prisons
- The Dark Source's resting place before being released.
- Syn'Tarus, the pocket world where the Dark Source crafted the Daemons, which may have been the Dark Sources original prison as well.
- Laycindarius' Sanctum beyond Arcan-Tor, where he was engaged and trapped by The Companions (and the creation of The Shard), and later fought for their first battle by Kalen Stormwind when The Shard was broken, triggering the Night of Falling Stars.
