The Felborne are a race of corrupted Primordials (specifically, Brobdangeon ) created by Alexander Tumyich in the late days of the Age of Knowledge. Owing perhaps to Xan's more limited mind and powers, they lack the variety of the similarly created Daemons corrupted by the Dark Source itself, instead merely being a horned and scaled (and slightly smaller statured) variation of Brobdangeon, with minor inherit magical qualities.
History[]
The Felborne would serve as Xan's army in his bid to conquer the Thualisyr, which resulted in his eventual imprisonment during the Age of Wars . The remaining Felborne established themselves at The Maze, expanding its subterranean levels into the Underworld and forming a small city as well as cooperating with the rapidly corrupting Carpath.
Although generally hostile ot other races, rare intrepid traders would make occasional bargains with the Felborne for Underworld resources, and their fortified position lent itself well to defending against any of the relatively weak armies that might assault them in the Age of Wars, or the Age of Cataclysm. Valdrent would largely ignore them (aided by Xan's role in the New Church of Humanity) and Xan would flee there after his guise was exposed.
The Felborne emerged once more in the peak of the Revenant Crisis, both in the final battle in Idryllia (fighting against both the Thualisyr and Valdrent), and aiding Xan in his final bid to recapture the Dark Source at Hallows Gate. Though unsuccesful in both ventures, they remain fortified in The Maze, with Valdrent's forces still in disarray and unable to besiege them.
Characteristics[]
The Felborne appear as large humanoids, horned and covered in scales, with lion like manes (In overall similar to a bipedal form of the Brobdangeon's patron Dangorm). They stand on average around ten feet tall. They possess the same talents as brobdangeon for stonework, although they have a preference for subterranean climes. As a whole, the race possesses keen hearing and is able to see in the infrared spectrum, adapting well to its environment. Their scales provide armor like protection, and their magic infused nature allows them to resist many magics more easily. Aside from commonfolk, dangerous warriors and powerful warlocks are their common militant professions.
