The Temple of the Seven (sometimes also called the Temple of the Elements) is a structure located in Last Cove. It is one of only two remaining places where worship of all seven Elder Dragons is acknowledged, the other being a shrine in Manae. The Temple in New Altalar having Thuala removed after her exile.

History[]

Established during the Primordial Wars, the Temple amplifies the effects of worship for the purpose of Divine Magic. It is the only structure in Last Cove that survived the rampage of the Howlers and served as a defensive fort for the survivors.
During the Age of Settlement, it fell into some disuse, with the death of Alestraxa and Nyrghaul, and the apparent disappearance of most of the other dragons. As a result, the priests refurbished the temple, sealing the Inner Sanctums, and began to change the tenets of the religion to the Elemental Worship that became common among Wilderlanders in the coming years.
During the Age of Knowledge, the Temple's Elemental Crystals became activated by Ether flowing from the interior planes ruptured into by the Arcane Society, and displayed visiosn of these to Adam Belamont and his companions, who used them as guidance to seal the portals.
The Arbiter Eli referring upon the knowledge kept in the Tower of the Sepulchre, convinced the priests to unseal the Inner Sanctum at the end of the Age of Cataclysm, allowing the group of Thaera, Markus Kammar, Vanin Thier and the Dawn Knight Athric Tell to find the ritual necessary to contact Aquar.
In the Age of Reclamation, the Temple remained unsealed, though most visitors still serve the Elemental forms instead of the Elder Dragons, a pattern which has continued into the Age of Mortals.

Structure And Pantheon[]

The Temple was designed for worship of the seven Elder Dragons and their aspects. The outer sanctum contained crystal altars to the elements, a place for lesser initiates to gain focus. The Inner Sanctum meanwhile was split into two levels. The lower level contained icons of, rituals, and names of the four elemental dragons, Aquar, Khazad, Mordra, and Yvera, while the higher level contained the same for Alestraxa, Nyrghaul, and Thuala.
During the years the inner sanctum was sealed, the Temple's new religion focused on the Elemental principles, assigning them additional concepts taken from the corresponding elder dragons personalities.

Attendants[]

The Temple's structure has typically included a High Priest, the main person allowed access to the Upper Sanctum, while several other Priests exists to oversee the lower sanctum and the outer sanctum. Even when the inner sanctum was sealed, this hierarchy existed in loose form. New initiates ot the temple are restricted from the inner sanctum, and tend the outer elemental altars.
The main priest of note was High Priest Callium Theren, a half-elf Wilderlander, who tended the shrine during the Age of Cataclysm, and unsealed the long dormant inner sanctum. In the Age of Mortals, he is an eldery gentleman, and has stepped down to being a lesser priest of Aquar, whom he espouses did not die in the sacrifice at Bastion, but rather became one with the oceans and the water element.
Yril Lartem is the present High Priestess, a wilderlander born in Last Cove. While paying lip service to the Dragons, she is slowly inserting a potential heretic dogma of transcribing the dragon's aspects onto members of the New Gods, believing the Dragons to be passing on in a fated manner.
