Thul'Masira (formerly Thuala) is one of the Elder Dragons, though officially banished from their company after the Primordial Wars. Her aspect was solely magic, a rarity in the Dragons' original home in the Elemental Planes. She is the creator of the Thualisyr race, and largely maintained an active rule of the grey elves until being slain by Jeral Tarn at the end of the Age of Reclamation.

Persona and Relations[]

Thul'Masira originally appeared as a massive dragon made up of a shimmering star field. Over the time of her exile, and much hastened by her experimentation with the Dark Source, she would change to a dark void, highlighted by points of her former star-like shimmering.

Thul'Masira had a rivalry with most of the remaining Elder Dragons, related to her exile, but most especially Yvera, who led her exile, and took many of the Thualisyr away to become the Yveralisyr. Many of the Primordials also had a dislike of Thul'Masira, as she was responsible for the majority of their imprisonments, with Ilphendar earning Thul'Masira's enmity in return for its part in the events of her banishment.

Thul'Masira had an odd relationship with the Dark Source, both being corrupted by it, but also holding it prisoner to further her own powers for many years. This would come to an end when the Dark Revenants stole it from her.

Thul'Masira's death was almost simultaneous with the rise of the New Gods, though she would be regarded as an enemy by most, save her own agent, Sil'Nasyr.

Dogma[]

Thul'Masira spent most of her time furthering her power, and plotting her return (and that of the Thualisyr to power), plans that became disrupted and entangled by the Dark Source, never coming to a full head.

History[]

The Lost Age[]

Together with Alestraxia, Thuala was the co-founder of the Dragons' rebellion. The two would soon join with Nyrghaul, an elder sage, and take their apprentices to lead the Dragons' exodus from the Elemental Planes. Thuala led the rituals to seal the Mouth of the World against the Titans ' reprisal.

Primordial Wars[]

Thuala would travel about during the wars, with her apprentice Yvera. Together they were responsible for sealing most of the Primordials within Ether Pockets. Returning from the sealing of Baelgar, while Yvera headed north to the Battle of Crimson Crest, Thuala and many of her Thualisyr were ambushed by Ilphendar and the Scaled Folk. During the battle with the Primordial, Thuala attempted to seal it into an Ether Pocket, but struck only an illusion. However, the spell breached into the prison of the Dark Source, and released it as a shadow passing over the assembled Thualisyr. They became afflicted with pale skin and darkened hair in its passing. Wary of more tricks, Thuala enacted a lesser ward, binding Ilphendar to the borders of the Scaled Moor, and made a retreat.

Age of Settlement[]

Thuala was called to judgement before the remaining Elder Dragons at Khazad-Mor. Convicted by the decision of Yvera, Khazad, and Mordra, she was renamed Thul'Masira (The Fallen Star) and exiled from their company. Most of the Thualisyr from the battle and many not remained loyal and departed with her. Those who agreed with the exile rededicated themselves to Yvera, becoming the Yveralisyr.

Age of Knowledge[]

Thul'Masira would settle into a hidden lair in the Underworld, with the Thualisyr building Obsidian City in a large cavern nearby, with access to Idryllia's surface. Although largely uninvolved with the events of the Age of Knowledge, Thul'Masira did recognize the sudden incursion of Elemental Forces through the Arcane Society's portals, and dispatched Dragonbloods (along with an early version of the Dragonguard) to combat them. This succeeded to a degree, but often met with resistance from Aergosian forces, not recognizing the purpose of the counter-attackers.

Age of Wars[]

When Xanatumyich the Destroyer led his Felborne army to conquer Northrealm, Thul'Masira lent the aid of her Thualisyr to the Trifecta Army to defeat him. While others took their own trophies, the Thualisyr claimed the mysterious Dark Source vessel and delivered it to Thul'Masira.

Later in the Age, Stormwind would destroy the imprisoned Xan, to win himself an audience with the Elder Dragon. Using the Rift Device, amplified by the Dark Source channelled by Thul'Masira, he would teleport himself through The Shard, destroying it, and challenge Laycindarius.

Age of Cataclysm[]

Thul'Masira remained largely in the sidelines of this age, simply solidifying her power, and falling further into the Source's corruption.

Age of Reclamation[]

The New Companions would venture to Thul'Masira's lair, seeking the Dark Source, only to find that the Dark Revenants had already stolen it. She would assign a favoured agent, Sil'Nasyr to aid them (and spy on them) and send them to retrieve it from Black Sands. Later informed by Sil'Nasyr of their intent to destroy it, she led the Thualisyr personally to Valdrent, seeking to reclaim it. It was in the climactic battle on Valdrent's plains, that she would perish to Jeral Tarn, who wielded Rumina's powdercaster and projectiles made from the scales of Khazad to slay the Elder Dragon. The resulting release of Thul'Masira's power would ravage all three armies, ending the battle.

Age of Mortals[]

Thul'Masira's grave site is Shadowsfall Lake, a pool of water that formed where she fell. Most notably, the lake suppresses magic, somehow forming a barrier to any Ether.
