Xyntix, who holds the nickname Wise-wing among the Primordials often acts as a counsel to it's allies Baelgar and Varthiir in the rule of the Beastmen. Xyntix was sealed away during the Primordial Wars, before being released by the New Gods (to be) in order to sway Varthiir's opinion in the Age of Reclamation. It's most common physical form is that of a tremendous flying creature, somewhere between a bird and lizard, though clearly not a Dragon.
Persona And Relations[]
- Xyntix is an aloof creature, preferring solitude and contemplation high in the mountains. While it has collaborated on occasion, most heavily as part of a trio with Varthiir and Baelgar to create and guide the Beastmen, it still prefers to speak through others and indirect engagement. Xyntix has significant prowess in the fey land magic also used by druids, and acquired a repertoire of arcane castings working with Keltraon during the Primordial Wars.
- Xyntix's involvement in the imprisonment of Khazad is not unknown to the Earth Dragon, or his mate Morda the Fire Dragon. Both bear it considerable ill will, as does Yvera the Air Dragon, who recognizes Xyntix's cunning and potential for magic. The New Gods Eli and Thaera bought sought Xyntix's counsel to sway Varthiir during the Revenant Crisis, though it is more likely Thaera of the two would have maintained any sort of contact.
History[]
The Lost Age[]
- Xyntix preferred to keep to itself in the ancient times, studying the ways of the weather and the creatures of the high places in the Bleeding Sun ranges. It became quite acquainted with these, and attuned to the land magics in a fashion matched only perhaps by Madrium among the Primordials. It was for this reason that it was consulted by Varthiir during the creation of the Beastmen, and the trio (Baelgar being the third) forged their loose compact that has endured since. Among the Beastmen, Xyntix patroned the Avanar, winged humanoids with avian featuring and the ability to fly, who would serve often as councillors and shamans amidst the tribal creatures.
Primordial Wars[]
- Xyntix sensibly stayed out of direct combat for much of the wars, seeing that even the lesser dragons outmatched its combative ability and the Elder Dragons wielded powerful magic besides. After the binding of Madrium and Quarten when they attempted diplomacy, it joined with Keltraon to attempt to find a method to unseal their brethren. While unsuccesful at that, they were able to conduct a weaker ritual of the same sort, which resulted in the binding of Khazad the Earth Dragon under the Forge Mountains. Xyntix eluded capture for some time, but was eventually entrapped by Mordra, the Fire Dragon who was mated with Khazad.
Age Of Reclamation[]
- Xyntix would remain bound in its prison for centuries, before being released by the New Gods in their mortal days in order to provide counsel to Varthiir. It perceived Varthiir's incomprehension of the Death Aspect the Blood Hound had taken from the fallen Nyrghaul, and some of the consequence that prompted the New Gods' quest. Xyntix convinced Varthiir to surrender the power over Hallows Gate to the Arbiter Eli, lest the Revenants (who were primarily of Draconic Races) seethe and overwhelm the world.
Age Of Mortals[]
- Xyntix has returned to its counsel role, providing guidance to the Beastmen through its shamans. While knowledge of all the events of the Revenant Crisis and the end of the Age of Reclamation have not yet spread, it is likely that once word comes to Mordra, that the Fire Dragon will hunt the Wise Wing once more, either herself, or through her Mordrakryn warriors.
